3月14日 Stargate SG-1: The end of an era10 years of the best Sci-Fi programming that has graced our screens came to an end this night. That’s right – Stargate SG1 has come to an end It was never going to fill anyone expectations. SG-1 has a huge following throughout the world and the internet, each and every one of us has different hopes and expectations for the final episode. Obviously the producers couldn’t give everyone what they wanted. They did their best. It’s very hard to finalise a brilliant & exceptional program that has been running for 10 years in 1 hour – the producers had a very hard job, what were they meant to include in the final edit? I for one would have liked to see the ever so elusive ‘Furlings’ Just in case (in the highly unlikey event) anyone from the SG1 production team is reading - you did a fantastic job and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. I would also like to say goodbye to the ‘Asgard’ these little grey fellows have been just a joy to watch As for what lies ahead? Well 2 Stargate movies are in works and due to be released in late 2007: Stargate: The Ark of Truth – This movie is to wrap up the story arc with the Ori. SG-1 travel to the Ori [home] galaxy (ooo scary). To find something called ‘The Ark of Truth’ – hopefully to get rid of the Ori for once and for all. Stargate: Continuum – This movie is on a completely different tangent and is to do with Baal (yay!) stealing the Stargate. As for the cast of SG1, they are all obviously doing the upcoming movies of SG-1. But they do have different projects planned after the movies: Daniel Jackson (as played by Michael Shanks) – Is rumoured to be appearing the in the hit US drama 24 as a recurring character! I for one would absolutely enjoy this. I’ve always wondered who would win in a fight between an Ascended Daniel and Jack Bauer. Anyway more on Michael appearing in 24 here. Samantha Carter (as played by Amanda Tapping) – Is starring in her own TV show called the Sanctuary. In which she plays a Doctor of 157 years of age and deals with freaks of nature etc etc. You can learn more about Sanctuary here. She will also be appearing in Stargate: Atlantis for atleast 14 episodes. What she will actually do there we don’t know – but we do tknow that she has her own ship (w00t!) Teal’c (as played by Christopher Judge) – Is also slated to appear in Stargate: Atlantis but only as a cameo and not a ‘central’ role and only for one episode early on in Season 4. I haven’t heard anything regarding Claudia Black (Vala Mal Doran) & Ben Browder (Cameron Mitchell). On a final note – farewell SG1 you have helped my geeky-ness mature into uber-geeky-ness and for that I thank you. I eagerly await the movies. Forever a Stargate fan, Singh400. |
