6月7日 Microsoft PhotosynthI've been following this project, since it first came to my attention back in July 30th 2006. Basically Photosynth takes a load of pictures (and I mean LOADS - gigabytes worth!!) from the same environment but from different locations around that environment.
It then somehow pieces together a 3D environment for you to explore on your computer screen. It's hard to describe it fully, but if you try it for yourself you'll see what I mean. To give a better idea of what I'm on about, watch this video (another video you might want to watch) to see the power of Photosynth.
Not only does Photosynth understand images, but it understands text based images. For example in of the videos above (the youtube one), you can see an ENTIRE Jane Austin novel stored within Photosynth. It's not blurred either, you can zoom in and read the entire thing should you want to.
